Raquel Costa Early Childhood Development & Emotional Regulation Specialist
I work with young children and families, supporting emotional development through play, connection, and a body-informed approach.
My work is grounded in a long-standing interest in human behavior, relationships, and early development. I pay close attention to what children communicate through their behavior, their bodies, and their play — particularly when they do not yet have the words to express what they are experiencing.
My background includes formal psychoanalytic training in Brazil, with a focus on emotional development and relationships, as well as parent guidance and therapeutic yoga training through YogaX, an initiative of Stanford Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The program’s healthcare-focused approach integrates psychology, neuroscience, evidence-based practices, and trauma-informed principles, informing the way I understand the relationship between body, emotions, behavior, and regulation.
Today, I bring these perspectives together in individualized, play-based work with children and families, supporting emotional awareness, self-regulation, flexibility, confidence, connection, and greater independence in everyday life.
